Integration and awareness campaigns |
- Integration Activities
-
- Disability Day
-
The 3rd December is Disability Day, Apemsi does different activities, simulations, protest marches etc. to remind and demand from public powers and society the need to adopt measures which ensure equal opportunities. - Peace Day
-
The professionals who work in training organise events, celebrations, activities and workshops for children with and without epilepsy and volunteers. The training encompasses integration, solidarity and respecting and valuing differences. In the workshops the attendees do games, puzzles, stories, crafts, etc.
On the day visits are made to disabled and elderly people, they are given the crafts made and also provided with company.
- Epilepsy Day
-
In Spain there are 400,000 people with epilepsy. Each year 20,000 new cases are diagnosed. On National Epilepsy Day (24th May) Apemsi does Awareness Campaigns in all of Spain: media communication, information points in all parts of Spain, talks, etc.
It is important that we inform correctly about the pathology of epilepsy to reduce social stigma and above all train the population on how to deal with a convulsive seizure or detect an absence seizure.
Our objective is that epilepsy is spoken about loudly and clearly.
- Woman's Day
-
Women are considered to be the main stay of the family and they have a very important role in the association, not only as a wife but also a mother to a child who has epilepsy and a worker.Apemsi provides activities and workshops to enable the woman to organise their day as a housewife and the carer of a son/daughter with epilepsy.
From this perspective we work with the woman to give her the time and space which is so deserved.
- Posters
-

We use posters to communicate, the objective being to launch a message which is visually attractive with a brief text, concise and to the point so that the posters impact on society.
