Since 2002, in Baza, Granada, Apemsi has celebrated during the second week of November Andalucian Seminars about Epilepsy. The objective is to inform and train professionals, familes and the general public about the latest advances in medicine, pharmaceuticals, studies and investigation.

The seminar is delivered in Baza Hospital and in different talks prestigious national or international professionals, those with epilepsy, families and Epilepsy Associations give their presentations and testimonies about the real problems of this prevalent and unknown pathology.

The inaugural act enlivened by different cultural acts takes place in the Ideal Cinema, helped by authorities from different points of Spain. During the course of the inaugural act the awards for "Solidarity with Epilepsy" and "Volunteer Awards" are given.

At the sametime as the seminars were set up children's play centres were created for those who have severe epilepsy. The centres are staffed by contracted personnel as well as volunteers. The play centres enable respite for families and carers and sharing with other families, professionals and authorities who thanks to this iniciative can participate together in different cultural acts as well as hobbies and free time.
